The Cure

Five years since their last Australian appearance THE CURE will make a very welcome return to our shores for an arena tour.
Renowned for their sublime two-hour-plus performances, The Cure will play Rod Laver Arena this July marking the band’s first Australian tour since August 2007.
Tickets will go on sale at 10am next Friday, May 6.
The Cure are currently deep in production rehearsals and set to embark on an extensive run of US dates and their first major European tour since 2008.
During the past eight years the band has performed a number of high profile London shows and headlined most of the major European festivals including: Roskilde, Werchter, Reading & Leeds, Pinkpop, Hurricane & Southside, Paleo, Vieilles Charrues, BBK, Belfort, Optimus Alive!, Primavera, Frequency, Electric Picnic and Bestival.

Since 2002 over 15 million people in 17 countries have been thrilled by this awe-inspiring production which is based on the songs of Queen with a book by Ben Elton (The Young Ones, Blackadder, Popcorn). Elton fashioned this hilarious futurist comedy around more than twenty-four of Queen’s biggest hit songs including We are the Champions, Radio Ga Ga, I Want to Break Free, Somebody to Love, Killer Queen, Don’t Stop Me Now, Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites the Dust and of course, We Will Rock You.

We Will Rock You reflects the scale and spectacle that marked Queen’s live performances and earned the band its pinnacle position in rock history. With Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor as music supervisors and 'a band without parallel in the theatre' behind the cast, the audience can expect We Will Rock You to rock as fiercely as the best of Queen’s concerts.

The original Australian tour of We Will Rock You opened at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre in August 2003 with a record advance, and Brian May and Roger Taylor in attendance. Australia was the first country outside the UK to produce a local version of the mega-hit musical, and the production dominated the 2004 Helpmann Awards, receiving five Helpmann Awards.

Coldplay have announced Australian dates for their A Head Full Of Dreams Tour, with a stadium show confirmed at Etihad Stadium on Friday 9 December.

This is the band’s first world tour since the Mylo Xyloto Tour in November 2012.

More than two million tickets have already been sold for the A Head Full Of Dreams Tour, which kicked off with a record-breaking stadium run in Latin America in March / April and which will see the band perform four sold out nights at London’s Wembley Stadium in June.

A Head Full Of Dreams is Coldplay’s seventh album, featuring singles ‘Adventure Of A Lifetime’, ‘Hymn for the Weekend’ and ‘Up&Up’. Since its December 2015 release, the album has reached Number One on iTunes in more than 90 countries and sold more than 3.5 million copies.
